During the early 1960’s numerous companies started to manufacture what can be called competition bucket style seats; two manufacturers captured the competitive market namely Restall and Microcell Engineering Ltd.
Due to the demand for originality we are pleased to be able to offer replica seats of both manufacturers. In some instances small differences to the experienced eye can be seen in comparison to the original products but our aim has been to manufacture as close to the original specification as practically possible.
The Restall seats were fitted to many of the factory competition Minis and Healey models.
The Microcell fixed and Recliner seats were fitted to many of the ‘Works’ Minis.
The Microcell Contour seats were fitted in the Sunbeam rally cars, Jaguar E Type Race Cars, MGA and MGA Sebring cars. This style of seat became available from June 1961.
When in a competitive situation the body perspires and it is not very pleasant sitting on a vinyl upholstered seat hence in many cases, especially racing, fabric facings were requested.
